Dr. Jiyao Chen is an assistant professor at the College of Business at Oregon State University. Prior to arriving in Corvallis, he spent four years at the Center for Research in Technology and Innovation, Kellogg School of Management.  He received his Ph.D. in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2007.

His primary research interests include business innovation, new product development, time-based strategy, and corporate social responsibility.  His article in the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management won the Bright Idea Award as one of the top publications written by New Jersey business faculty in 2005. Other papers won the best paper awards from PICMET 2004 and PDMA Research Forum 2010. His recent articles have been accepted or published at the Journal of Operations Management and Journal of Product Innovation Management. He serves as an associate editor of Journal of Knowledge-based Innovation in China and a member of the editorial review board of Industrial Marketing Management.
