Teaching and Advising 1.0 FTE:

Internship Coordinator, 0.50 FTE: Coordinate and oversee department’s Merchandising Management, Apparel Design, Interior Designand Housing Studies Internship Programs.Act as liaison with industry partners. Maintain data bases for internship sites and industry contacts; establish new sites and industry partners. Calculate program’s success rates in enrollment, internship obtainment, position offers post graduation, new industry partners and growth of program.

Teach the following courses:
Internship Orientation and Development/Field Experience
: Work individually with 100+ students, as well as in classroom setting advising on internship goals and career exploration. Direct students in finding good fit internships. Teach students job seeking skills and develop professional documents such as resumes, cover letters, portfolios, etc. Supervise students while completing professional field experience internships. Monitor and assess students’ academic as well as on-the-job performance.

Merchandising Instructor, 0.45 FTE:  Teach the following courses:

Retail Merchandising: Teach about the organization, operation, and competitive strategies of soft good retailers, and the planning, procurement, pricing, and promotion of merchandise assortments and inventory management.

Merchandise Planning and Control: Teach about the quantitative analysis of inventory planning, pricing, and control of soft goods, and the analysis of management problems using quantitative data and merchandising principles.

Fashion Trend Analysis: Teach about the fashion trend forecasting process within the soft goods industry and the use of information sources and trend analysis in developing and promoting a fashion product.

Service/Professional Development, 0.05 FTE: Participate in department faculty meetings and dept./university committees. Coordinate annual DHE Career Symposium with over 300+ attendees. Lead student study tours to: MAGIC Tradeshow, Las Vegas, NV; New York Fashion Tour, NYC, NY; Macy’s Study Tour, San Francisco, CA. Participate in Beaver Recruiting, CONNECT Week orientation activities. Guest speak at High School career days. Work closely with College Advising team on case-by-case situations and reaching graduation goals.
