Dr. Noxel joined the Austin Family Business Program in 2007 and is currently serving as the Director of the program. She works closely with Oregon's leading family enterprises and the professional advisor community to deliver education content to help family businesses thrive. During this year Sherri will oversee the AFBP budget, staffing and general management of all AFBP program areas. Sherri's academic area of interest is the college experience of family business students. In 2008 she developed and co-taught a study skills course for first-year students from families in business. She looks forward to developing experiential programs to improve family business student preparation and leadership development.

Sherri extends the reach of the Austin Family Business Program by identifying new partnership opportunities and marketing AFBP events. She also manages the client database and provides research support for the family business courses. She holds a master's degree in Agricultural and Extension Education from the University of Florida and a doctorate in Higher Education Policy and Leadership from The Ohio State University. Sherri's prior higher education responsibilities include serving as the Director of Information and Research and the Director of Academic Assessment for the Kentucky Postsecondary Council on Education and as the Alumni Affairs and Student Recruitment Coordinator for the University of Florida's College of Agriculture.

John Hasbrook is a practicing attorney in Monmouth, Oregon. His practice emphasizes small business set up and operations, including formation of LLCs, S and C Corps, Partnerships and the related documents and contracts that go along. He also practices in the area of estate and family transition planning, probate, civil litigation, real estate and other similar areas.

Previously John worked as in house legal counsel for a large family owned interstate trucking company where he provided legal services for defense of civil lawsuits and regulatory compliance law. Prior to that, John was a Deputy District Attorney in Multnomah County, Oregon where he prosecuted crimes from violations through felonies.

John also teaches at both Western Oregon University and Oregon State University as adjunct faculty. At WOU he teaches Introduction to Business Law and International Business Law and at OSU he teaches Family Business Management as an ecourse.

He is a graduate of Willamette University with a BA in economics and Doctorate of Jurisprudence.  John lives in Monmouth with his Wife and three children. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, fly fishing, scuba diving and golfing.

 

Roger Anderson

Roger joined the AFBP as Program Manager in 2013. He is responsible for delivering the program’s statewide educational and outreach offerings. Roger also works closely with the family business advisor community in Oregon.

Prior to joining the program, Roger worked in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors developing and leading programs for new products and services. He has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Oregon State University.

In his free time Roger enjoys traveling, cooking, and enjoying Oregon with his family.

Melissa Elmore is the Office Manager for the Austin Family Business Program, College of Business, since October 2007. She manages day-to-day operations and plans events for the AFBP. Melissa is an Oregon State University graduate and an active Alumni.
