As the College of Business constantly evolves to offer innovative solutions to market demands, one of the primary areas of focus is the MBA program. After evaluation and consideration of new tracks and curriculum to provide, the program will now offer four new options: Financial Planning/Wealth Management, International Operations and Supply Chain Management, Marketing Management with Specialization in Market Research and Executive Leadership.
The Executive Leadership track will be delivered in an online/hybrid format. In partnership with the College of Pharmacy, a dual Pharm.D/MBA degree will be offered with an emphasis in Executive Leadership. With the curriculum general enough to serve leaders and professionals from any industry, this track will provide the opportunity for a variety of professionals in different geographic areas the ability to earn an Oregon State MBA.
Below is a brief overview of each new addition the program:
The Executive Leadership track, within our existing Master of Business Administration (MBA) program complements the existing Pharm.D./MBA double degree by allowing pharmacy professionals who began their graduate studies more than seven year ago (and thus, are not eligible for the PharmD/MBA double degree program) to earn their MBA from Oregon State University. The curriculum, however, is general enough to serve leaders and professionals from any industry.
The Financial Planning and Wealth Management (FPWM) track, within our existing Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, will cover the curriculum required by the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) certification and also provide students with greater depth of knowledge in asset valuation and portfolio management as is required in the wealth management industry and for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
International Operations and Supply Chain Management (IOSCM) track, within our existing Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, offers students an alternative focus for their MBA that includes acquiring a solid mastery of international operations and supply chain management concepts and methods. This track requires a total of 45 credits, including 15 track specific credit hours, and can be completed in as little as 15 months.
The Marketing Management with a Specialization in Market Research (MM/MR) track, within our existing Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, prepares graduates for management careers and entrepreneurial enterprises in the rapidly growing field of market research. Graduates are prepared for careers in multinational market research firms such as TNS and JD Power, Fortune 500 companies and other business, government, and non-governmental entities with “in-house” market research departments, smaller boutique research firms, and advertising agencies. Graduates with entrepreneurial ambitions are also prepared to start their own market research firm.
