Learn to recognize business opportunities. Gain fundamental business skills as well as those that launch a new venture or idea. With an innovative curriculum taught by dedicated professors, the Business and Entrepreneurship minor provides you with a fundamental stepping stone on the road to identifying and commercializing business opportunities in any type of organization.

 

Declaration Process

  1. View the REQUIRED online minor orientation (requires audio capability), then click the link at the end of the presentation and complete the form.
  2. Declaration is not automatic. Within a week of the Orientation evaluation dates, you will receive an e-mail indicating if you were accepted or declined.
  3. After orientation (IF eligible), our office will submit all necessary forms to the Registrar's office to have the minor added.
  4. If you are accepted or denied you are welcome to call our office (541.737.3716) to make an appointment to review your remaining courses needed (if eligible) or courses that can be repeated to become eligible (if denied).

 

Declaration Process: Postbaccalaureate Students

If you have already graduated with a BA/BS degree, your declaration process is different. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Apply to OSU as a postbaccalaurate credential seeking student.
  2. Your application will be forwarded to the College of Business for review.
  3. If accepted, you will be notified via email.
  4. This email will instruct you on how to finish declaring the minor.

 

Eligibility Requirements: (All are required to be eligible for the minor)

 

  • View online orientation
  • Satisfy the minor GPA requirement (2.5 GPA in OSU classes listed below - transfer grades do not count towards GPA, just completion of the requirements)
  • Be in good standing at OSU (2.0 GPA in all classes)
  • Meet the Minimum Grade Requirement (C- or higher in classes listed below)

 

How to earn it:

  • Take all classes for a letter grade (A-F) only
  • Earn a min. grade of C- in all minor classes (both OSU and transfer).
  • Earn a min. 2.5 GPA in 28 minor credits (OSU grades only).
  • Only second OSU grade will be used for GPA calculations (if retaking classes).
  • Fifty-one percent of minor classes must be completed at OSU.
