W. Alfred (Al) Mukatis is an emeritus professor in the College of Business. Al taught business law, environmental law, and real estate law over his 21 years of at Oregon State University. For the first five years he also practiced law part-time specializing primarily in real estate and estate planning. He has published a number of articles in various legal areas with a focus on environmental law and has authored a monograph on solid waste management for managers and engineers. Twice he has organized regional meetings for the Business Law Association and been elected twice as President. He retired from the College of Business in 1999 but continued to teach environmental law for two years in the College of Agricultural Economics before permanently retiring. Since 2001 he served two years on the Member Services Committee of the Oregon State University Retirement Association. Currently he is enjoying his hobbies of photography, learning languages, and traveling.
