Biography

Bill Becker was born in San Francisco on 30 August 1939. As a child he was an avid fan of the San Francisco Seals and San Francisco 49'ers and enjoyed fishing in San Francisco Bay.

He married Joyce Frances Misterka on 9 July 1966.  They have three children: William David Becker (UCLA Law School, attorney in LA); Holly Joy Boime (U of O Masters, full-time mom in Portland); David James (PhD Berkeley, School of Public Health at UAB). There are four grandchildren: Mina Kimberly Becker and James Alexander Becker (David's children) and Clara Ann Boime and Daniel Jacob Boime (Holly's children).

Bill retired on 1 June 2003. He remains active in professional matters, writing and reviewing for journals and conferences and he continues to teach in the Oregon Executive MBA Program. Additionally, he engages in a variety of volunteer activities and enjoys the blessings of daily life.
