how to earn the International Business Option (IB Option)

  • Complete BA 348 International Exchange Orientation course (if admitted to program) with a grade of Pass
    • Attendance is required
    • Course offered on Fridays during Spring or Fall terms
  • Complete 15 OSU credits of pre-approved coursework while on exchange and earn OSU equivalent of a C- or better in each course
  • Complete all requirements of the BA 349-Impact of Culture on Business course during and after exchange program with a grade of Pass (course is taken in the term the student is abroad)

Note: IB Option is not available for the Australia exchange location

Courses taken overseas will involve studies in international business and culture. Depending on the location, students take 4 to 6 courses throughout the term. Grades earned abroad are calculated into both the OSU and College of Business GPA. Therefore, it's important to do well in classes taken while on the exchange program.  The courses taken overseas are "new" classes and do not double count with any courses already required in a student's business curriculum.

The International Business Option is attached to the Business Administration major.

Australia exchange program

Students going to Australia will not earn the International Business Option but may take courses at UTS to satisfy degree requirements in Business Core, Major-specific courses, and even Bac Core requirements.  Courses need to be pre-approved in order to have them count towards specific requirements.  Students earning a Business  minor, if approved to go on this exchange, could potentially take a class or two that will count in the minor.
