Students and faculty access top financial news platform

College of Business students and faculty have access to a top financial educational platform thanks to a program from Barron’s, a leading resource for financial news, in-depth analysis, and commentary on stocks, investments, and markets. The program is sponsored by Morgan Stanley and provides licenses to Barron’s as an educational resource with the aim to improve financial proficiency for the next generation of business leaders.

The program is in place with business schools and universities across the country.

In addition to access to informational resources behind the Barron’s paywall, Barron's in Education provides faculty with a curated weekly email, The Weekly Review, which summarizes top stories and gives study questions to facilitate classroom discussion. They provide a user’s guide to help new readers understand and make decisions based on what they learn.

The Barron's in Education connects with our Career Success Center to expand awareness of job and internship opportunities offered by Dow Jones and Morgan Stanley corporate recruitment teams.

On campus, Barron’s works with three designated student ambassadors to maximize the opportunities that experiential learning brings. This includes the ability to host custom events and virtual webinars with guest speakers from Barron’s, Morgan Stanley, and other financial services firms, all geared to the learning objectives promoted by faculty and their classroom work.

There also is an ongoing schedule of webinars that students can attend, with recent topics including young investing in turbulent markets, career development and what employers are looking for, and the state of the U.S. job market and the impact of the virus.

We're grateful that our students can benefit from this resource.
