The Austin Family Business Program offers a Family Business option that is part of the Business Administration major in the College of Business.
Students majoring in fields outside of business can now earn a minor in Family Business and should check with their academic advisor to build their program.
Both the option and the minor are available online and as hybrid courses for Corvallis campus students.
For more than 30 years Oregon State has developed deep relationships with Oregon’s family-owned enterprises and the professionals who advise them. Business growth and renewal are vital to these enterprises that are noted as great workplaces for employees, community leadership and resource stewardship. Owner exit planning is critical with more than one third of the northwest region’s closely held businesses planning to change hands in the next five years. The family business option or minor can be your career advantage whether you are working in your family’s company or plan to build a career in the financial services where family businesses will be your best clients.
