Career Success Tips

How to Succeed in Your New Job: The First Week

1. Introduce yourself, relentlessly - Let your enthusiasm shine through and give a quick, energetic introduction to the people you don't know yet when the opportunity arises.

2. Ask well-timed questions - Research has shown that new employees perform better when they ask more questions. Prioritize your questions and learn the best times and communication methods to ask them.

3. Seek out a friend - Developing a trusted relationship will make you feel more comfortable as you're getting to know your new workplace.

4. Learn how to navigate and enjoy your new workplace - Identify and establish routines and logistics related to your job early on.

Save the Date! - Portland Accounting Open Houses

Greetings! The Portland offices of Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Moss Adams, and PwC will be opening their doors to all interested students on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Students who attend the open houses will have the opportunity to meet staff from each firm, tour the offices, and ask any questions they may have about that firm and the upcoming recruiting season.
There will be no formal programming during the designated time frame for each firm, so students are encouraged to stop in at each office as their schedule allows.
Attire will be business casual. As it may be easiest to walk from firm to firm, we recommend comfortable shoes.

Open House Schedule and Locations for Wed., August 22:

9:00 am - 11:00 am -- EY (1120 NW Couch Street, Suite 425)
