Student Tips

What if I don't get an internship?

1. Look for Special Programs - Take advantage of events and leadership programs that companies may be offering.
2. Conduct Informational Interviews - Schedule time to talk to industry professionals about their career and experiences. This is a great way to network!
3. Get Experience - Any summer job can give you experiences and transferable skills to apply to an internship in the future.
4. Develop a Skill - Focus on advancing your skills with computer software, social media platforms, or a foreign language!
5. Be Strategic - Familiarize yourself with the company culture and customer population served by your companies of interest.
6. Volunteer - Gain professional and personal experience that you can apply towards a future job by giving your time to a worthy cause.
7. Do Something that Makes You Interesting - Develop your skills in hobbies that you love. Employers want to know more about you and how you dedicate your time.
8. Read - The more you read, the more you'll know!

Transition Away from Pro-School

Apparel and Interior Design applicants will receive an email indicating their acceptance. Students accepted will hold an Apparel or Interior Design option within Design and Innovation Management major; students not accepted will hold a Design Management option.
Students will have their major changed after final approval is received on the new major proposals. Upper division core classes will be accessible for registration as long as requirements are met, whether or not it is visible yet on MyDegrees.
If you wish to make changes to your major in the future, please make an appointment with your advisor.

To graduate from the College of Business you must have a COB GPA of a 2.5. The COB GPA is the grade point average in all courses completed at OSU within your business degree in order to graduate.

Willamette Valley Legislative Fellowship

This is a competitive 11-week Late-Summer/Early-Fall fellowship hosted by Representative Dan Rayfield.  Students will be involved in statewide legislative election campaigns, development of policy for the upcoming 2019 legislative session, and will participate in a unique guest-speaker series with policy and campaign experts.
