Welcome to the Reading Room at Valley Library

If you have visited the library in the last few months you may have noticed a change in the setup of the Newspaper Room. With new shelving-- for books, DVDs, and VHS tapes-- we can formally introduce to you the Reading Room. The Reading Room is a collection of books pertaining to a theme that was chosen in collaboration with students and staff that highlights a topic which reflects current issues happening around us. Rotating every six months, the collection is a place to learn about current events and cultivate an atmosphere of learning. The goal is to introduce students to books that the library has while encouraging them to learn more through reading. Our first theme is Reading Intersectionality. Intersectionality is a term that refers to the intersections of identity (age, race, gender, etc.) and recognizing that these identities can not be separated and should be looked at as a whole.
