Post-bac Students Pursuing a Second OSU Business Degree/Major

STEP 1: Apply for Admission

Students interested in earning a subsequent undergraduate degree in business may apply for admission to OSU as a degree seeking Post-baccalaureate.

This application must be submitted along with official transcripts of all college work by the application deadline. Deadlines are approximately one month prior to the start of the term of admission. A nonrefundable $50.00 application fee is required.

STEP 2:  Evaluation of Records

In order to be admitted to the College of Business as a Pre-Business student, you must:

  • Have earned a 2.25 or higher cumulative GPA. This GPA is computed on the first baccalaureate degree plus any subsequent credit earned.
  • Have received a C- or better in College Algebra and English Composition.
  • Submit a 150-200 word Statement of Objectives with the application.
    • It is important to indicate which major within the College of Business you hope to pursue.
  • Meet the following College of Business Progression Standards
    • 2.5 minimum GPA within any of the Pre-Business/Pro-School core or major classes already completed at a transfer institution
      • If more than three of these classes were completed at OSU, grades in those classes must also average a 2.5 or higher.
    • No grade lower than a C- in these same classes
  • Please Note:  In order for upper division classes to apply towards specific business requirements, the transfer institution must be AACSB accredited

STEP 3:  Notification and Next Steps

IMPORTANT: Academic performance is not the sole criterion for admission to Oregon State University. OSU may evaluate a person's behavior and background to determine their ability to maintain the standards of academic and professional conduct expected at the University. An evaluation may take into consideration current behavior and performance as well as past experiences and actions. Simply qualifying for admission does not guarantee admission.
