You're a business student from day one

You'll take classes with our knowledgeable faculty, meet industry professionals and learn what it means to pursue a business career, connect with peers and gain experience inside and outside the classroom.

Welcome to Oregon State University!

Choosing a college is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make.

We are here to give you the information you want and answer the questions you may have. As you decide which college to choose, we invite you to consider all the reasons why the College of Business at OSU may be the right choice for you.

A strong business foundation is your launch pad.

All College of Business students complete the Business Core, a series of courses to give them a well-rounded understanding and knowledge of each facet of business. The Business Core will give you the foundation you need to succeed. Admitted students complete Business Core courses and then apply to one of the professional schools that matches their personal area of interest.

You're a Business Student From Day One

Innovation Nation is our living–learning community for first-year pre-business students. You'll live in one of our business-themed residence halls with other pre-business students where you'll dive into a variety of opportunities like seminars, workshops, mentoring opportunities, networking events and guest-speakers. We think it is really important that you have an opportunity to engage in professional development, personal development and leadership-skill development beginning the day you step on campus.

Industry Engagement

Every week we host personal, professional and leadership development opportunities as part of Fridays in Austin. We bring business professionals and OSU alumni to campus to share more about how each business major works within their industry. You'll have an opportunity to network with and learn from industry professionals in the world-class facility of Austin Hall - and you'll look the part in your business attire. Fridays in Austin themes may also center on a particular major and explore it in more depth. These topics connect with what you're learning in class and encourage engagement with your peers and distinguished business professionals. Our Career Success Center conducts seminars and one-on-one consultations on topics of resume writing, interviewing strategies, and securing internships and jobs that truly make our graduates stand out.

Cultivating Excellence

The Dean’s Academy is a cohort-based experience for high achieving freshman and transfer students in the College of Business who wish to maximize the educational and experiential aspects of their college experience. The Academy encourages intellectual curiosity and active engagement in the educational process, and seeks to graduate next generation business leaders who are visionaries and responsible citizens.

Dedicated Advising Team

From day one until you graduate, we provide you with an advising staff to assist you in choosing the right classes to keep you on track to complete your Business degree and achieve your goals. This means you do not have to wait until you are of upperclassman status to get major-specific advising. Our advisors work ONLY with College of Business students so you won’t have to worry about availability.

Study Abroad Opportunities

Through the Arthur Stonehill International Business exchange program, students will study abroad at one of our 12 partner universities. You’ll take College of Business courses, so it does not delay your graduation timeline and the classes are taught in English. By participating in this experience, you’ll satisfy requirements for the International Business major. As an added benefit, students pay OSU tuition for their term abroad (less OSU fees and travel costs).

Internships are an important part of the undergraduate business experience. Employers and graduate schools prioritize resumes by those with one or more career-related experience. Internships are also crucial for students to make informed, strategic career decisions. Career Success Center staff and online resources can help you to develop a thorough understanding of the process industries and companies follow when recruiting their students.
