Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Business advantages require change-makers, disrupters, and insightful thinkers. Innovation and Entrepreneurship embraces these forces of creativity, innovation and process-based refinements. Here you'll learn how to recognize and develop opportunities in any organization, including corporations, non-profits, family, and small business.

Whether you are starting your own business or engaging in corporate innovation, the entrepreneurial mindset is a valuable asset. We want you to learn the entrepreneurial way of thinking.

Entrepreneurial thinking prepares students to react quickly in the business world in order to plan, lead and contribute to new business development initiatives.

Innovation and entrepreneurship is multidisciplinary and creative in nature. You'll learn about many different areas of business, in particular marketing, strategy, finance and management.

Innovation and entrepreneurship is an option for business administration majors offered in Corvallis or online through Ecampus. Innovation and entrepreneurship also is offered as a minor.

Associated Program:

The option in innovation and entrepreneurship is available to students enrolled in the business administration program.

Our business administration degree provides you with broad business skills in accounting and quantitative methods, an understanding of the legal and social environment of business, and a background in management and organizational behavior, marketing, finance, and operations management.

Meet Christine Clair

Digging vines, studying climate, sniffing soil, pursuing the pinnacle pinot noir … If there’s a new chapter in the works for the Oregon wine story, it surely includes Christine Clair ‘10, Willamette Valley Vineyards’ winery director and someday successor to that winery’s founder.

Clair, who studied business entrepreneurship at the College of Business, metaphorically ‘inhaled her first bouquet’ of the Oregon wine industry while still a student by reading “At Home in the Vineyard,” the plucky bohemian memoir of Oregon wine pioneer, Susan Sokol Blosser. Clair kept drinking in the story.
