Sachi Moran: A leader, a mentor, and a future 'Big Four' auditor

As graduation approaches, the College of Business proudly celebrates students whose dedication, leadership and curiosity have shaped their course. Among them is Sachi Moran, a standout student in accountancy and finance whose impact on the College of Business community has been felt in classrooms, mentoring spaces and student engagement programs across the college.
Moran’s path through Oregon State has been defined by preparation, purpose and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. From her first advising meetings, she stood out for her readiness, her thoughtful questions and her ownership of her academic and professional goals. That same drive carried into her leadership roles, where she became a trusted mentor and a steady presence for first‑year students navigating the transition into the college.
After graduation, Moran will begin her career in audit and assurance at a Big Four accounting firm, a milestone she earned through early preparation and hands‑on experience.
“Preparing and applying for internships early allowed me to gain valuable experience and better understand what I wanted to do after graduation,” she said.
All of the amazing accounting and finance professors who created such a supportive culture around preparing students for life after graduation really helped me.
Moran was also motivated to contribute to the students and community around her.
One of her most meaningful experiences was serving as a student engagement program assistant at The Arch, where she facilitated academic success programming for first‑year students. In that role, she presented workshops, supported up to 30 students at a time, and helped create a welcoming environment for new Beavs entering the College of Business. The position allowed her to grow as a leader while connecting with students from all backgrounds — something she describes as one of the highlights of her OSU experience.
She also served as a College of Business peer mentor, guiding first‑year students through academic challenges, professional development, and the early steps of building a business identity. Her mentorship helped students feel grounded, supported, and confident as they began their own journeys.
Moran credits much of her growth to the people who supported her along the way. “All of the amazing accounting and finance professors who created such a supportive culture around preparing students for life after graduation really helped me,” she said. Their encouragement, paired with her own determination, helped her build a strong foundation for her future career.
Her professors and advisors echo that sentiment. Moran has been recommended not only for her academic excellence, but for her leadership, her professionalism, and her ability to elevate the people around her.
As she prepares to step into the world of public accounting, Moran carries with her the confidence she built at OSU. She leaves behind a legacy of leadership and service, and she moves forward with the clarity of someone who knows exactly what she’s capable of.
Her success is a reminder to future students: start early, stay curious, take advantage of every opportunity to grow and give back when you can. Moran did just that — and it opened doors to a career she’s excited to begin.
Sachi Moran, congratulations on your graduation and on the incredible future ahead. The College of Business is proud to celebrate everything you’ve accomplished and everything you’re about to achieve.
