Awad Hossman

Hossam Awad is a consultant with 30 years of experience in textile, apparel manufacturing and brands. Specializing in sourcing, innovation, development, product creation processes, planning, manufacturing, quality and supply chain operations.

Hossam's most recent role was Chief Operations Officer at Blisslights where he managed the overall operations, profitability, and budget.

Prior to that, he worked for Columbia Sportswear for 14 years in various roles and locations. He started in the Portland HQ, managed 2 of the Columbia liaison offices in Taiwan & China, and then headed up sourcing and manufacturing to a newly acquired sustainable brand (prAna) that focused on sustainable products such as Hemp, Organic & Recycled products. During his time, he worked on different product categories such as: Outerwear, sportswear, activewear, Swim, Kids, accessories, equipment, tents, sleeping bags and work closely with innovation team on the few of the materials innovation as well as footwear & equipment on the Outdry technology.

Hossam has his B.S. in business administration from Egypt. Where he grew up at his family business, where they had both textile & apparel factories and that helped him to learn the foundation of the apparel business at a young age. From early on he loved to share his knowledge and use his creative problem-solving skills to meet any challenges and help brand and vendors to overcome them and grow by maximizing their effectiveness and enhancing their efficiency.
