Biography

Erick returns to Oregon State University as College of Business academic advisor having previously earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Liberal Arts in 2017. Erick's academic career began at Portland Community College as a non-traditional, first-generation college student. After graduating, he worked successfully in the tech sales industry before transitioning to the higher education field in 2020. He has held student services roles at Portland Community College and Chemeketa Community College, serving low-income and underrepresented student populations. Erick is a firm believer in utilizing leadership methods to serve students, learn their goals, and work together to achieve them while challenging them to look beyond their limits. In his free time, Erick enjoys building clay sculptures, exploring Oregon's backcountry, eating/drinking donuts and coffee while listening to podcasts, or watching new shows with his wife and two pups. He has a great interest in listening to music in Latin languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, or French. He also loves soccer and is a fan of Real Madrid, Liverpool, and, of course, the OSU BEAVERS.
