Biography

Amanda Terhes earned her M.A. in Applied Anthropology, with an integrated minor in communication and health care marketing, from Oregon State University in 2007. She is currently a Senior Instructor I in the College of Business at Oregon State University, where she teaches a broad range of marketing courses, including Advanced Application of Marketing Principles, Consumer Behavior, Retail Management, and Introduction to Careers in Marketing. In addition to her teaching, Amanda serves as the Professional Development Coordinator and Faculty Internship Supervisor for the Marketing program.

Before transitioning to higher education, Amanda worked in public relations across both university and governmental sectors. She later served as the Director of the College of Business’ Center for Marketing and Consumer Insights (formerly C2C), an experiential learning program that partners with organizations across industries to conduct applied market research.

Beyond her work at Oregon State University, Amanda actively contributes to the health care business she co-founded with her husband, volunteers with Enfoque Ixcán to expand access to eye care in underserved communities in Guatemala, and mentors young and emerging readers.
