Biography

Dr. Kaliyamurthy studies how people think about and use information technology. He is particularly interested in the challenges of digitization and the narratives around new technologies such as what gets called "AI". His research has been published in Marketing Theory and has been presented at the Association for Consumer Research, American Marketing Association and Consumer Culture Theory conferences. 

Prior to academia, Dr. Kaliyamurthy gained over a decade and a half of international corporate and non-profit experience in marketing, sales and technology roles at companies like Johnson and Johnson and Tekelec (now a part of Oracle).

During his time off, Dr. Kaliyamurthy enjoys watching documentaries and reading non-fiction books. He loves playing volleyball and is working on his bowling skills.
