Biography
Jay joined OSU's College of Business Finance Department in 2023 as a last-minute instructor for BA540 (Corporate Finance for MBA's) and enjoyed it so much he decided to stay! His primary focus is teaching introductory finance and accounting courses.
Jay joined the OSU team after a career in Corporate Treasury. He spent 30+ years in Treasury in seven different industries working for Alcon, LSG Sky Chefs, Dresser Industries, CNF, URS, Pensco and finally Mercy Corps as Global Treasurer. His primary areas of focus were treasury systems, cash management, repatriations, M&A, debt issuance and management and 401k & pension management.
Jay and his family farm 45 acres of filberts near McMinnville.
He doesn’t know the word “no” and thus is always volunteering. He is currently president of Grieg Lodge, the Sons of Norway chapter in Portland and is on his second term as a commissioner on the Oregon Hazelnut Commission. Previously, he served as the president of the AFP of Oregon and SW Washington and served two terms on the Millbrae Elementary School Board.
A native Oregonian and a proud Beaver, he holds a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University in Business Administration (Finance & Management Science) and an MBA (Finance) from Indiana University.
