Awards are made based on specific guidelines for each scholarship. The information provided is a good starting point for locating scholarship opportunities.
Students are also encouraged to pursue other funding opportunities as well.

Annual scholarship timeline

Step 1

The CoB scholarship application will be available in ScholarDollars from November 1 to March 1 (some are earlier).

Step 2

The FAFSA/ORSAA will be available starting in December.

Step 3

Submitted scholarship applications are reviewed and evaluated by CoB faculty and staff reviewers from February to April.

Step 4

Most scholarships are awarded for the upcoming academic year from April to June.

Departmental scholarships

  • Apply by February 15, 2026

General scholarship deadlines vary by student type:

  • Continuing students must apply by March 1, 2026
  • First-Year students entering 2026-2027 must apply by March 1, 2026 (after submitting an admission application)
  • Transfer students must apply by August 1, 2026

Center For Advancing Financial Education (CAFE)

OSU’s Center for Advancing Financial Education (CAFE) offers one-on-one advising to help students navigate paying for college and personal finances. Advisors can help students maximize financial aid, search for scholarships, understand billing, create budgets, and compare financial options.

Helpful resources

Corvallis, Portland, and Ecampus College of Business students experiencing an urgent, unexpected financial crisis that may affect their well-being or academic progress may request emergency scholarship support by completing the application in ScholarDollars.

This funding is intended for short-term emergency situations only and does not cover ongoing or routine expenses. Due to limited funding, not all requests can be approved.

Eligible expenses may include temporary housing or utilities, food or basic needs due to a sudden crisis, emergency medical expenses or medications, replacement of essential belongings after theft, fire, or disaster, safety-related expenses such as changing locks, and travel for urgent family situations. This list is not exhaustive.

Expenses not covered include tuition, fees, or study abroad costs; recurring expenses such as rent or regular utilities; non-essential items, entertainment, or fines; and expenses resulting from poor financial planning.

This is a one-time emergency resource. Students seeking ongoing financial support are encouraged to explore resources through the Financial Aid Office at financial.aid@oregonstate.edu or CAFE at cafe@oregonstate.edu.

Eligibility

To qualify for an emergency scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program within the College of Business
  2. Be in good academic standing
  3. Be experiencing an emergency situation
  4. Not have previously received COB emergency scholarship

Funding Details

Emergency funding is available in Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. Emergency scholarships typically range from $200 to $1,000, depending on available funding.

How to Apply

Apply here and respond promptly to all application questions. The review process may take up to one week. You will be notified by email once a decision is made and provided with information about any additional resources. CAFE may follow up if further financial clarification is needed. Supporting documentation may be requested. Due to limited funding, students may receive the emergency scholarship only once.

The College of Business offers limited assistance for students unable to afford required course materials. If you need help purchasing textbooks or educational materials, complete the Textbook Support Survey by the end of Week 1 of the term.

Eligible students may receive this support once per academic year.
