OSU offers need-based scholarships that require students to submit the FAFSA or ORSAA before the priority deadline of February 28th. In addition OSU students can apply for college and departmental scholarships starting November 1st through OSU ScholarDollars. College of Business scholarship deadlines are posted in OSU ScholarDollars with most having a deadline of March 31. See below for additional details.

Undergraduate scholarships

The College of Business offers numerous scholarships to new and continuing students.

  • Complete your application for admission to OSU by February 1 to be automatically considered for university-level scholarships. If you apply after February 1, you will be considered for these scholarships on a funds -available basis.
  • Submit your FAFSA or ORSAA to be considered for university and College of Business need-based scholarships, as well as federal and state need-based grants (Pell, etc.).
  • Confirm your enrollment in Beaver Basecamp (OSU admissions portal).

Submitting and receiving a scholarship

  • November
  • December & January
    • Work on making a draft for your CoB scholarship application using the scoring rubric
    • Go for help to the OSU writing center to draft the application.
  • February
    • Submit your application by February 28th (check deadlines; they can vary)
  • March
    • Patiently wait while applications are reviewed during this period
  • April
    • Check your email during the month repeatedly for an award notification
    • Pay attention to details in the email, including the offer acceptance deadline
  • May
    • Show your gratitude to the scholarship donor. It is an important part of the scholarship process.
    • Check your email for details about writing a Thank You letter

Write a thank you letter

In your thank you letter you can tell your donor about:

  • What is your class standing and major
  • Your participation in OSU clubs or other organizations
  • Your background
  • What are your hobbies or how you spend you free time
  • Activities you are involved in
  • Challenges you went through in your life or during the study
  • How the scholarship impacted on your future life

Financial Emergency/Hardship Scholarship Request

Financial emergency or hardship scholarships are available Fall, Winter, Spring.

You may apply here.

If you are a Corvallis, Portland or Ecampus College of Business (COB) student experiencing a financial emergency or hardship, you may request emergency scholarship support by filling out this survey.

After you complete the survey, you can expect to be contacted by our Center for Advancing Financial Education (CAFE) for more information and a follow-up conversation. Please respond promptly and know this process could take up to two weeks. If you have any questions, email

The Oregon State University Center for Advancing Financial Education (CAFE), housed in the College of Business, provides resources, services and support to OSU students. We offer support to every student through one-on-one advising, workshops, training, and a peer mentorship program.
