Biography
Shaokun Fan is an Associate Professor in Business Analytics in the College of Business at Oregon State University. He earned his PhD in Management Information Systems from the Eller College of Business at the University of Arizona in 2012. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physics, and his master’s degree in Computer Science from Nanjing university. His research interests include data mining, blockchain and social media. Specifically, he seeks to develop novel data mining methods to analyze big data from blockchain and social media platforms, with the aim of helping people to make better business decisions. His research has been published in MIS Quarterly, Informs Journal on Computing, Research Policy, Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, Information and Management, and Electronic Commerce Research, among others. He currently serves as an Associate Editor at Electronic Commerce Research, Decision Support Systems, and Journal of Electronic Commerce Research. He received several awards from the College of Business at OSU, including the Prominent Scholar Award (a College-wide research award) in 2017, 2020, and 2021, and the Betty and Forrest Simmons Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award in 2019.
