Undergraduate Ceremonies FAQs
Please do! We want you to be able to celebrate with your guests and loved ones. There is no guest limit for the 2026 College of Business Undergraduate Graduation Ceremonies, but we do ask that you let us know how many guests you expect to bring with you when you register for your ceremony. Guest seating is first-come, first-served and cannot be guaranteed.
You can absolutely borrow one! Loaner stoles will be available for temporary lending at the Career Success Center in Austin Hall. You will need to provide your student ID in order to borrow a stole, and you will be required to return it within 24 hours. Gift stoles will not be distributed early or outside of the graduation ceremonies.
In order to receive a stole, you must register for and attend the appropriate Graduation Ceremony for your major. When you register for the ceremony, an order will be placed for your graduation stole and you will be presented with your stole at the graduation ceremony. You must attend the ceremony in person to receive a stole.
The College of Business Graduation Ceremonies and OSU Commencement at Reser Stadium are very different experiences. The College of Business Ceremonies are organized by school, and much smaller than the one in Reser, which allows the College the opportunity to be more personalized, read the names of each graduate in attendance, and to give graduates a graduation gift in the form of a College of Business stole. Graduates (other than Masters and Ph.D. candidates) will NOT have their names read at Commencement in Reser Stadium on June 14. For this reason, some graduates and their families prefer the College of Business ceremony as it feels more intimate and graduates’ names are read aloud.
However, Commencement in Reser Stadium delivers the wonderful sense of “pomp and circumstance” that one may expect from a university as large as OSU, and diplomas are also handed out at Commencement. Graduates are invited and welcome to attend either or both ceremonies as they choose, but should be aware of the differences.
You must register separately for each ceremony that you would like to attend. Registering only for OSU Commencement does not register you for the College of Business Ceremony, and registering only for the College of Business Ceremony does not register you to walk in Commencement. You are welcome to attend both, but you must register separately for both.
No, reserved seating is NOT available. Seating is first-come, first-served.
You're welcome to attend the Business Administration ceremony. Please register under this time slot to let us know.
College of Business staff do not have access to your Commencement registration or diploma information. Contact the Office of the Registrar with Commencement-related questions.
You are welcome to attend both major ceremonies if you would like. Please register for both ceremonies in order to indicate your attendance. If you attend two ceremonies, you will receive only one stole.
Graduation stoles are designed for graduating seniors who attend the Graduation Ceremonies in person. You must attend the ceremony in order to receive your stole as they are a gift for those who attend. Thank you for understanding.
The College of Business Graduation Ceremonies are a rain or shine event. Although umbrellas are not permitted during the ceremonies, sun visors or rain ponchos are suggested in case of rain. Sunscreen is recommended.
Although there is no real dress code, many graduates and guests choose to dress up for this special day. We suggest Business Casual attire, and encourage you to consider how you want to look in photos from your graduation day. Regalia (cap and gown) is optional, but you are welcome to wear it - about 60% of the students who attend Business Graduation choose to wear their cap and gown. Students can purchase regalia from the OSU Beaver Store. There will be a Grad Fair at the Beaver Store on April 21 and April 22. Students can email customer.service@osubeaverstore.com or call 800-595-0357 for details.
Graduates will be seated in the center row of chairs in the Austin Hall Quad, and guest seating is first-come, first-served in all other seats. Following a faculty processional, we'll hear from the Dean of the College of Business. Some programs will have keynote speakers and some majors will be giving out student awards. Following speakers and awards, graduate names will be called individually and graduates will walk across stage to receive a graduation gift, a College of Business stole.
The Innovation Management and Hospitality Management majors fall under the Business Administration program, so please register for the Business Administration ceremony.
If you are a graduate with disabilities who may need accommodations at the College of Business Ceremonies, please email collegeofbusiness.events@oregonstate.edu with your request as soon as possible.
Physical tickets will not be provided, and guests do not need to check in. Graduates must check in by name at the registration table, where their names will be checked against the registration sheet. Guests can be seated immediately without checking in.
We will be hiring a photographer for all of the college's graduation ceremonies. All students will be photographed as they cross the stage. All photographs will be uploaded to the Graduation Ceremonies webpage following the event.
Yes, the ceremonies will be livestreamed right here the day of the ceremonies.
Graduate Ceremonies FAQs
Please do! We want you to be able to celebrate with your guests and loved ones. We ask that you register your number of guests to make sure that we can accommodate everyone. Seating is first-come, first-served, and cannot be guaranteed.
We would be happy to send your graduation gift by mail! Please email collegeofbusiness.events@oregonstate.edu with your request.
Diplomas are only provided at the OSU Commencement on Saturday. Please refer to the Registrar's Office with any questions about your diploma and eligibility at Commencement.
Please contact the Office of the Registrar with any questions about diplomas, as those are handled by the university itself and not the College of Business. The only thing given out at the College of Business Ceremonies will be a gift from the College of Business. Spring graduates who are not attending Commencement will be able to order their diplomas after spring degrees have been conferred. Emails will be sent to graduates’ OSU email accounts with instructions on how to order.
The College of Business Graduate Recognition Ceremony is held on Friday, June 12 on the Austin Hall Quad, the Corvallis home of the College of Business. The ceremony lasts approximately an hour and a half, and includes a class processional, a keynote speaker, remarks from the Dean of the College of Business, and individual presentation of graduates. Graduate names are called individually, and graduates walk across the stage to greet the Dean and be presented with a graduation gift.
OSU Commencement is held on Saturday, June 13 in Reser Stadium. The ceremony lasts approximately three hours, and includes a class processional of all schools, a commencement speaker, recognition of schools, and announcement of doctoral graduates. Graduates at all levels also receive their physical diplomas, but graduates other than doctoral candidates will not have their names announced individually.
You must register separately for each ceremony that you would like to attend. Registering only for OSU Commencement does not register you for the College of Business Graduate Recognition Ceremony, and registering only for the College of Business Graduate Recognition Ceremony does not register you to walk in Commencement. You are welcome to attend both, but you must register separately for both.
