Overview
The long-term care operations management option prepares students majoring in supply chain and logistics management to develop the skills to lead the systems that support high-quality care in skilled nursing, assisted living and other long-term care settings. Students develop expertise in supply chain and operations management, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, forecasting and vendor relations.
Coursework focused on long-term care emphasizes cost-effective resource management, regulatory compliance, continuity of care, and emergency preparedness. The curriculum also explores healthcare policy, technology-enabled operations and performance measurement.
Graduates are prepared for roles in operations, supply chain, and healthcare administration within long-term care organizations, healthcare systems and related service providers with the goal to support high-quality outcomes for patients and residents.
