Training Schedule

The Lead. Always. Healthcare Leadership Program begins with four live virtual kickoff sessions (12 total hours) delivered via Zoom. These sessions are designed to establish foundational leadership concepts, build cohort connection, and prepare participants for applied learning.

Participants then continue with six instructor-led online modules delivered through OSU’s Canvas learning platform over approximately five months.

The next three (3) cohorts run

1. May 6, 2026 – October 4, 2026
2. July 1, 2026 - November 29, 2026
3. October 7, 2026 – May 16, 2027

Live Webinars

In addition to the kickoff and asynchronous coursework, participants will attend monthly live Zoom webinars (60 minutes each) led by OSU faculty. These sessions deepen learning, reinforce key concepts, and provide opportunities for discussion and application.

Program Outline

Kickoff (4 Live Sessions, 3 Hours Each)

• Explore leadership identity, strengths, and core values
• Use strategic mapping to understand your organization and audience
• Create an Individual Development Plan (IDP)
• Evaluate workplace culture and team dynamics
• Use scorecards to measure performance and strategic goals
• Identify leadership strengths and development opportunities

Module 1 – Understanding Emotional Intelligence (3 Weeks)

• Define emotional intelligence (EQ) and its role in leadership
• Identify personal strengths and growth areas
• Develop an EQ action plan with SMART goals

Module 2 – Enhancing Interpersonal Communication (3 Weeks)

• Recognize key communication principles
• Adapt communication styles across audiences
• Strengthen professional dialogue and engagement

Module 3 – Resolving Conflict Through Dialogue (3 Weeks)

• Identify types of conflict
• Apply negotiation and mediation strategies
• Practice active listening and nonverbal communication

Module 4 – Promoting Inclusivity & Diversity (3 Weeks)

• Understand diversity, equity, inclusion, and bias
• Practice inclusive communication and cultural responsiveness
• Apply strategies to create more inclusive workplaces

Module 5 – Problem-Solving & Leading Change Skills (3 Weeks)

• Use tools like SWOT and root cause analysis
• Lead change initiatives and engage stakeholders
• Build resilience and innovation through critical thinking

Module 6 – Team Development and Collaboration (3 Weeks)

• Understand stages of team development
• Evaluate team dynamics and leadership impact
• Address barriers such as trust and communication breakdowns
