The marketing insights and analytics option of our specialized master’s degree helps provide the critical link between the promise of abundant data and actionable business insights gleaned from these data.

By focusing on the combination of marketing (which gives a theoretical understanding of what drives customer behaviors) and analytics (which provides big data analytical techniques), you’ll develop the skills to drive informed business decisions and marketing strategies. The Oregon State specialized masters' degrees allow you to customize your study with a wide range of electives.

What you’ll learn

Incorporate customer insights and innovative, data-driven solutions to develop a marketing strategy.

Take courses examining three areas: core business knowledge, a deep understanding of marketing principles, and the analytical tools to conduct and translate data analysis to value-enhancing actions.

Study topics including data and text mining, digital and search marketing, consumer behavior and data visualization.

Master these skills with action by completing a capstone project that addresses a client’s business challenge.

The specialized master's option in marketing insights and analytics is cross-disciplinary by design; two of the five College of Business' centers for research excellence — the OSU Center for Marketing and Consumer Insights and the OSU Center for Business Analytics and Applied AI — provide the opportunities for connections to practicing professionals, high-level research and sponsored projects.

The Center for Business Analytics and Applied AI, formed in 2019, is known for annual thought-leadership symposia and community bootcamps for business analytics professionals.

The Center for Marketing and Consumer Insights (CMCI), throughout its 30-year history, provides professional market research and consulting services pairing student researchers with regional and national clients. While pursuing your master’s in business, these high-caliber resources are available to you.
