Preparing for a succession of the family business is challenging. Family dynamics have a tremendous influence on the planning process, directly impacting long-term relationships with family, employees, and other stakeholders. Financial components of planning (retirement, wills, trusts, buy/sell agreements, etc.) are also built upon the foundation of family dynamics. Learning to balance both financial and family factors is critical to long-term success. This breakfast will explore how those involved with planning should take financial and emotional factors into consideration to best prepare themselves and their business for an eventual succession.
McGee Wealth Management is a family business with three generations of women contributing and offers a unique perspective on succession in women-owned firms.
