BA160 Series –
A Weatherford Experience
The BA160 Series is comprised of three interrelated classes designed for students who are interested in becoming entrepreneurial leaders.
These courses provide freshman the opportunity to work with students from across all disciplines and are designed to encourage active engagement in Weatherford programs. Although the courses are listed as business classes, they are open to all Weatherford residents and designed for all majors.
The BA 160 Series focuses on building a competitive advantage while teaching students four important skill sets crucial to success in today’s global marketplace: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and civic engagement.
• BA160 – ‘The Weatherford Way’ (Fall Term)
• BA161 – ‘From Awareness to Action’ (Winter Term)
• BA162 – ‘From Ideas to Realization’ (Spring Term)
Students who complete the BA160 Series (3 two-credit classes) may use the courses as a substitution for BA101 – Business NOW (a six- credit course). BA101 is a required College of Business course for pre-business majors. For non-business majors, this series is offered as elective credit. Regardless of their major, all students gain crucial career development skills.
BA 160 is a two-credit course focusing on building a career portfolio and analyzing personal strengths to accomplish individual and team objectives. Our goal is to help students become profession ready.
During Fall term, students will work on time management skills, explore personal strengths and skill sets, and enhance their public speaking and presentation skills. Students will practice and reflect on team building, leadership, decision- making and communication skills through participation in a series of team exercises.
Although the course is listed within the College of Business, the class is open to students of all majors. ALL Weatherford residents are encourage to enroll. BA160 is the single best way for students to become involved in the Austin Entrepreneurship Program and take advantage of the opportunities provided from residing in a living/learning community.
