Students who list one of our majors on the application are automatically considered pre-business students. Since the college has a pro-school, you MAY have to meet additional requirements if you think you are ready to apply directly to pro-school. This typically does not
happen until a student has Junior standing and has met specific coursework and GPA requirements. As a pre-business student, you have full access to all the benefits and opportunities the College of Business offers.

Many of our students are able to secure employment in a wide variety of industries and some even land those jobs before they graduate. Salaries associated with each job largely depends on the employer and the location. Starting salaries range from $40,000 - $60,000.

Our Career Success Center is set up to help College of Business students find jobs and internships. As a part of the college, you have access to “Beaver Careers,” a tool used by our industry partners to reach and hire our students. An internship is not required, but in order to make you a competitive employee, they are highly encouraged.

Professional development is extremely important for all of our students. As a transfer student, you will participate in professional development courses just for you and other transfer students. You will also be invited to attend Friday’s in Austin, our industry specific professional development events that occur every Friday during the term. As other opportunities to engage and develop you arise, you will be invited to attend those events as well.
