An exchange scholar, Iris Bechinger from the University of Karlsruhe, worked on this project during 1996-97. A second visiting scholar from Karlsruhe is working on this project during 1998, and is helping us extend the study to German software firms. One manuscript is under revision; one is being prepared, three others are planned.
IBM Manufacturing Flexibility Grant ($10,000; 1996-present). Gobeli, D. H. and Ashok Chandrashekar. Research project on the impact of the need for manufacturing flexibility on current Total Quality Management paradigms and organization effectiveness. Initial interviews, focus group and pilot survey have been completed, with a preliminary model have received strong support. The first manuscript is in process.
